Senior Director Lead Strategy and Execution

Job Description

Please note that this position is based in San Diego, CA. Acadia's hybrid model requires this role to work in our office three days per week on average.

The Sr. Dir., Strategy and Execution will be responsible for elevating strategic and analytic insights along with field execution in the Rare Disease Franchise. The individual will work with Acadia's cross-functional leadership teams to implement strategies and pull through operational execution plans. This person will play a key role in driving large projects within the business unit while gaining unique insights and access to organizational strategy and direction. This role will work directly with the SVP, Rare Disease Franchise, VP Field Sales - Rare Disease Franchise, and functions across the Rare Disease Franchise Team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Execution Excellence and Leadership:
    • Manage and measure the franchise plan by evaluating the execution of brand priorities across functions, including developing and managing key cross-functional operating forums (i.e. DOT and others as needed)
    • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications through various mechanisms - email communications, monthly newsletters, town halls, etc.
    • Plan and facilitate monthly and quarterly rare disease franchise updates, communications, and business reviews.
    • Work with cross-functional partners to help shape a strategic narrative and content to support the needs of key stakeholders (i.e Board Members, PSC, etc)
    • Collaborate with leadership on field direction and execution for strategy/initiatives across the OneAcadia teams.
    • Drive team engagement, culture, and recognition
    • Partner with CET, help identify areas of need for additional training, support, and resources.
    • Coordinate with Marketing and Field leadership team to help generate ideas, solutions, and orchestrate key actions with internal teams.
    • Applied Skills: Ability to synthesize and analyze disparate, and at times, imperfect information; knowledge of and an ability to navigate within the broader organization, especially with senior leadership; sound judgment; ability to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Project Management:
    • Provide the leadership and sense of urgency for initiatives that may encompass the full scope of activities Rare Disease Franchise initiatives, realized by better organizational processes, best-practice sharing, information/knowledge collection/dissemination, and ways of acting and being to support the goals/aspirations of the business
    • Monitor progress towards goals, analyze data, and ensure follow-through on the part of key players to sustain momentum needed to drive core initiatives
    • Manage and monitor annual brand planning and budget (AOP) process, in partnership with Finance
    • Work with cross-functional partners to manage Brand Planning Process
    • Partner with VP, Canada, to serve as the liaison between US and Canda to support the Canadian launch ensuring all US functions contribute in an appropriate manner; facilitate content development
    • Support slide and/or content development for leadership presentations i.e. national calls, BoD, QBRs, national calls.
    • Serve as a surrogate for national leaders (cross-functionally)
  • Field Operations:
    • Partner with CIAO and Sales Leadership to:
      • Enable enhanced targeting and territory planning
      • IC/MBO/Quota planning: execution, evaluation across all field teams
      • Ensure the field force has the performance reporting, data 'management' and actionable insights needed to evaluate the business and drive execution.
      • Evaluate platforms to identify areas to optimize (i.e Performance reporting, IQ2020, HUB, Veeva, etc.)
    • Annual KPI planning
    • Partner with CET, Marketing, and Sales leadership on training and meeting planning

Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 12 years relevant experience focusing on training, sales, marketing, commercial operations and cross-functional team leadership at a pharmaceutical/biotech company which includes experience managing people, processes and projects to effectively meet timeframes. An appropriate combination of education/experience will be considered

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, see, talk or hear in a standard office environment. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards based on factors such as individual and organizational performance. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance, and location.

Salary Range
$210,000-$262,200 USD
