We are seeking a Section Supervisor for our Adversary Analysis (JCA-001) to provide leadership of a team of analysts exploring technological, tactical, operational and strategic questions about U.S. adversaries through quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis in support of national security decision makers.

 

As the Adversary Analysis Section Supervisor, you will...

  • Provide technical leadership to a team of analysts identifying and analyzing operations, tactics, processes, and warfighting challenges of US adversaries worldwide - This leadership will primarily be provided directly to team members as the lead for technical projects and by example to all the section members through quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis and the presentation of relevant results to decision makers; Ensure the timeliness and quality of the analysts' work, to include their analytic technique and approach their interactions with colleagues, sponsors, and project team members and their written and presentation products.
  • Provide technical and managerial leadership to a team of analysts through assessment, coaching and development of their analytic techniques and approaches.
  • Mentor and coach section members by example; Work with the analyst individually and collectively to further develop their skills and grow the capability and capacity of the section in the area of adversary analysis primarily as a leader on technical projects - In addition, provide and guide staff development opportunities.
  • Assist higher-level managers with group strategic planning and the development of new business initiatives to further develop APL's capability adversary analysis.
  • Assist higher-level managers with staff and task planning, interviewing and hiring, and integrated investment and capital planning.
  • Conduct regular performance coaching sessions with staff.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Have a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in regional studies, history, economics, social/political science, or another relevant discipline.
  • Have a demonstrated record of analytic leadership in analysis and experience in adversary knowledge and analysis.
  • Have demonstrated ability to collaborate, lead teams, mentor and coach.
  • Have demonstrated strength in communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Hold an active Top Secret security clearance and can ultimately obtain a TS/SCI level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You 'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have experience with adversary analysis at an operational command level (Combatant Command, Service operational command, or other government agency).
  • Have prior experience working or deploying overseas. 
  • Have supervisory and/or Project Management experience.
