Job Function

An opportunity to join the Business and Information Technology Department of a premier community college. Primary responsibility will be to teach Accounting / Finance courses in alignment with objectives and outcomes for the department.

Macomb Community College Adjunct Faculty demonstrate deep subject matter knowledge and provide effective instruction to students using various modalities including, but not limited to, on campus, online, remote, hybrid, and flexible learning. Adjunct Faculty are responsive to their students and support their success through timely communication, feedback, and assessment of student learning. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Teach Accounting / Finance subject matter as assigned by the department. 
  • Maintain course materials in the College’s Learning Management System (LMS), including, but not limited to, announcement, syllabus, and gradebook.
  • Keep gradebook up to date and submit final grades by published deadlines. 
  • Participate and actively cooperate with the department and Learning Unit to meet accreditation standards.
  • Participate in course assessments that will accurately measure achievement of student learning outcomes as assigned. 
  • Complete training for various instructional delivery modalities as required.
  • Maintain faculty credentials as required by the College’s accrediting agencies.
  • Attend Faculty Development Days and/or Institutional Development Days as schedule permits.
  • Participate in Learning Unit committees as schedule permits. 
  • Other duties as assigned in compliance with the AAFMCC collective bargaining agreement. 

 

Education

A successful candidate will meet at least ONE of the following five criteria to be considered for the position. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting + Master in Business 
  • Master’s Degree in Business including 23 semester hours in Accounting (graduate or undergraduate) 
  • Master’s Degree in Business including 21 graduate semester hours in Accounting
  • Master’s Degree in Business including 15 graduate semester hours in Accounting + 5 years related work experience
