As a Network Field Operations Technician, you will...

  • Respond to and complete assigned ServiceNow tickets primarily dealing with network and telephone port activations, moves, adds, and changes. Ensuring that incident tickets are completed in a timely manner.
  • Fix and repair existing copper and fiber-optic network infrastructure using various tools and testing equipment.
  • Install network switches, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs), servers, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and other network, telephony, and monitoring equipment.
  • Assist network engineering team with projects such as switch replacements, network upgrades, power supply replacements, and other deployment and/or upgrade tasks.
  •  Manage and support mass move operations and daily move requests documenting their connectivity and recovering inactive ports when they are no longer in service.
  •  Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Must have an HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have 5 years experience installing, testing, and maintaining UTP (Un-shielded Twisted Pair), STP (Shielded Twisted Pair), and fiber optic cabling and IT Infrastructure to ensure they are in tact and working optimally.
  • Have great interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work with all levels of staff using tact and subtlety
  • Are familiar and have a basic knowledge with Windows operating system and with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc…)
  • Have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Capable of working effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Are able to evaluate and set priorities in order to meet schedules.
  • A motivated self-starter with solid organizational and problem solving skills
  • Are willing and able to [special working conditions like travel, schedule, lifting/walking]
  • Candidate must hold a valid drivers license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Normal Shift will be Monday – Friday 8:30am-5:00pm
  • Available for occasional early morning, late evening, or weekend support.
  • Willing to work outdoors and in maintenance vaults and flat roofs if required
  • Capable of lifting 50-75lbs.
  • Are able to acquire Interim Secret clearance by your start date and can ultimately acquire Secret clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Can operate Fluke test equipment (copper, fiber, and network test sets)
  • Are a BICSI Installer or Technician, or hold some other low-voltage wiring certifications
  • Have experience with Service Now or other similar ticketing / dispatch systems.
  • Are familiar with the underlying theories and concepts of data communications and transmission.
