Are you interested in Government Contracts or Supply Chain Management?

 

If you’re pursuing a degree in Business or Supply Chain Management and want to gain experience in Procurement we’d love to have you join our team!

 

We are seeking a Procurement Intern to help our team outline potential improvement areas in JHU/APL 's Supply Chain and support crucial subcontract closeout activities. This internship will offer both an overview of the procurement process as well as hands-on experience reviewing purchase requisitions, analyzing contractor proposals, and managing contract awards.

 

Special projects include, but are not limited to:

  • Helping our team prepare for an upcoming Certified Purchasing System Review (CPSR),
  • Assist with the rollout of a new procurements reports and metrics via business intelligence tools
  • Assist Buyers and Subcontract Managers in price analysis in support of new awards

Day-to-day duties will include:

  • Learning and improving our subcontract closeout process through new tools and processes.
  • Assisting in the subcontract closeout activities of active and expired subcontracts.
  • Expediting of open order reports and past due orders.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Supply Chain Management or related business degree
  • Possess strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Are able to multi-task effectively
  • Are proficient in the MS Office Suite
  • To access APL’s facilities and networks, US Citizenship or permanent resident status is required, subject to applicable laws.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you… 

  • Coursework in Supply Chain and/or Process Management
  • Experience with MS SharePoint
