Director of Admissions, Marketing and Community
Relations

Gogebic Community College is seeking candidates for a full-time Administrative Assistant to the
Director of Admissions, Marketing and Community Relations who is also the direct supervisor.
This position is vital to the college and the Student Services Department. The starting wage for
this position is $18.19 per hour. The College offers a generous benefits package including

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitor department phone line by answering inquiries from the public, community
   members, as well as potential and current students. Monitors the chat function on the
   GCC website.
• Process applications for admission to the college via mail-in, on-line, off-campus and in
   person.
• Process short admissions and Intersession applications (<6 credits), dual enrollment
   applications (high school student taking college credits), and guest applications.
• Review all applications for completeness and enter into Jenzabar system. Route
   applications to Director for approval if required.
• Create and maintain physical and electronic files for all college applicants; including
   application, transcripts, acceptance letter and any other enrollment documentation.
• Enter and update student information and status in Jenzabar upon acceptance into college.
   This will ensure student welcome packet is created and inform new student of next steps
   in acceptance process.
• Process Nurse Aide, Continuing Education, and Workforce Development course
   applications to begin work flow to Business Office and Student Services.
• Assist as needed with planning and coordination of college events such as Career Fairs,
   College Day, Graduation, Orientation, etc.
• Assists Admissions and Marketing Director and Marketing Strategist with various
   projects.
• Pick-up, open and distribute department specific mail to the appropriate individual.
• Assign and distribute lockers, locks, and login cards requested by students.
• Maintain and process documents accessed through admissions software accounts i.e.
  Parchment, Mongoose Cadence and College Board.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Proficient in Microsoft Suites required.
• Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills and professional etiquette.
• Highly organized and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Jenzabar experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to work under pressure, balance competing demands, and set priorities

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associate Degree
• 2-3 years customer service experience in an office environment required.
• Student Services experience preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee
frequently is required to use a computer; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The
