All About You
 
The Department of African American Studies at Saint Louis University seeks to hire two Postdoctoral Teaching Faculty with a start date in July 2024. The department is seeking enthusiastic scholars trained in African American Studies or related fields that explore interdisciplinary connections between African American studies and the social sciences. Ideal candidates will be able to offer courses that involve qualitative or quantitative research, and/or explore connections to STEM fields. Primary duties include service to the University Core curriculum, and teaching introductory courses within the major. This position is contracted on a yearly basis, and may be renewed twice, for a total appointment period of three years. It involves a 3/3 teaching responsibility with concomitant student advising.

Candidates must demonstrate commensurate scholarly potential, and potential for success as a teaching scholar, with a strong record of mentoring and support of undergraduate students. Successful candidates will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to social justice through their research, teaching, and service and the ability to contribute to departmental and university priorities.
 
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants for this position must hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) or be enrolled in a Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) granting program at the time of application with completion of the Ph.D. required by the time of appointment.
