Mapp Biopharmaceutical, Inc. "Mapp" is a San Diego based, innovative biopharmaceutical company focused on addressing unmet medical needs through the development of life-saving monoclonal antibody treatment options to combat a variety of neglected and tropical infectious diseases, and in support of biodefense programs.

The Early Research and Development Group (ERDG) and the Advanced Research and Development Group (ARDG) at Mapp Biopharmaceutical are responsible for the execution of high quality Research and Development activities to ensure the achievement of a robust portfolio through CMC, Nonclinical, Regulatory, Project Management, and Clinical activities consistent with Mapp's product development objectives.

The Research Intern position is a technical position within the Early Research and Development Group (ERDG). The Research Intern will execute experimental studies as well as perform general laboratory duties to support Mapp Scientists in meeting their research objectives.

Basic Qualifications

• Pursuing a graduate degree in a scientific, engineering, or related discipline
• Conceptual understanding of biological research related activities
• Excellent aseptic/sterile technique
• Experience with mammalian cell suspension and tissue cultures
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the transfection, selection, and cultivation of recombinant protein expressing Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell lines
• Experience with protein purification
• Familiarity with FACS and Octet

Responsibilities

• Assists with antibody production studies
• Assists with antigen generation and design studies
• Maintains detailed experimental records
• Generates reports and documents as requested
• Presents effectively and communicates work related results to supervisor and group
• Performs general lab duties

Mapp's anticipated pay scale for this position is $25.00 to $25.00 per hour. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the candidate's level of education, and type and length of experience within the job and/or within the industry.

This position is an on-site position located in Mapp's new state-of-the-art San Diego facility.
