Your next role as a Miracle Maker
Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a #MiracleMaker to join our R&D team as a Senior Scientist. As a Senior Scientist you will lead and participate in research efforts toward improved mRNA functions and support the development of new processes, RNA synthesis, capping and purification schemes.
How you will make an impact:
- Lead and participate in research efforts toward improved mRNA function through chemical or enzymatic modification.
- Analyze and interpret complex in vitro and in vivo data, generate actionable insights to guide project direction.
- Collaborate cross-functionally withother teams to design experiments to test mRNA functions and also provide support to manufacturing teams.
- Document, interpret, and summarize findings in reports, participate in the technical transfer from R&D to other teams.
- Present results during group meetings and participate in scientific discussions, actively follow literature for recent developments in nucleic acid field.
- Contribute to troubleshooting, problem solving, and novel ideas while providing solutions within logical scientific context.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Perform other functions and duties as required.
The skills and experience that you will bring:
- Ph.D. preferably in biochemistry, chemical biology or equivalent and 9+ years research experience in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical biology, or molecular biology field.
- Track record of scientific achievement demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications.
- Familiar with mRNA IVT, capping process, purification, and functional assays.
- Experience in DNA/RNA chemical modification or enzymatic ligation is a plus.
- Experience in RNA modification and purification, familiar with HPLC purification
- Experience working on cross-functional teams.
- Ability to multitask, meet project deadlines, and work in fast-paced dynamic environment.
- Have excellent oral & written communication & presentation skills.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $140,000 - $167,000. In addition, highly competitive long-term incentives in the form of company equity, bonus participation and company sponsored benefits are provided as part of the total compensation package. The salary offer will depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications, as well as the location of the role.
