Responsibilities

This is a full-time remote position that can be located anywhere in the U.S.

Manages the development and implementation process of a company's products and services. Coordinates departmental or cross-functional teams, focused on delivering new or upgrading existing products. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery including planning and directing schedules and monitoring budget/spending. Organizes cross-functional activities, ensuring completion of the project i.e. product on schedule and within budget constraints.

  • Develop project scope, schedules, projects plans and budgets using tools such as Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office products.
  • Lead and execute projects with tight deadlines to on-time and on-budget deliveries.
  • Develop communication plans and communications to projects teams, stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Schedule and conduct project team meetings for all ongoing projects.
  • Manage all change requests and requirements related to the project.
  • Provide project leadership to project team members and across IT organization.
  • Plan, schedule and facilitate reviews/status of key software project lifecycle milestones with all levels - from project team members to executives.
  • Ensure that Project Management tools and methodologies are appropriately applied.
  • Oversee and maintain liaison between all parties concerned with the project to facilitate any changes or modifications and to facilitate resolution of project problems including vendors.

The Value Stream Engineer (VSE) facilitates Value Stream processes and execution. He/She escalates impediments, manage risks, help assure engineering value delivery and help drive continuous improvement of the Value Stream.

As a VSE, you are responsible for:

  • Single point of contact for the entire engineering/delivery organization for the value stream.
  • Front lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects and products using engineering expertise.
  • Understand requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire value stream lifecycle.
  • This includes Managing Delivery project schedules, Identifying Delivery Quality and Time risks and clearly communicating them to Value Stream stakeholders.
  • Explaining team's analysis and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in value stream development with engineers.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the program using various tools, such as the Program and Value Stream Kanbans and information radiators.
  • Assist with execution and tracking of Features/Capability/Solution for completion.
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the Agile Release Train (ART) sync at the Program Level and the Value Stream (VS) sync at the VS level.
  • Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to the value stream level and Portfolio Level.
  • Work with Product Management, Product Owners, AOM/Solutions, Development Streams and other Value Stream stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
  • Help manage risks and dependencies & address critical bottlenecks.



Qualifications

  • 2+ years managerial experience
  • Experts at managing software teams in agile project management environment
  • Experience managing teams in different geographical locations and time zones
  • Experience working with offshore teams
  • Excellent communication skills and problem solving ability
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) is a plus
  • OOP experience in .NET and/or JAVA environments is a plus
  • Data development experience in Oracle/SQL environments is a plus
  • BS or higher required
  • Computer Science or Software Engineering degree preferred

The expected base pay for this position ranges from $72,112 - $91,443 annually and will be based on a number of additional factors, including skills, experience, and education.
