Brief Description:

The Senior Manager, Market Access Training & Development is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering innovative and interactive market access training solutions across three Business Units that tangibly improves the effectiveness of the Account Reimbursement Managers/Oncology Business Managers, Payer Field Teams, Channel Account Managers, and our field sales teams. This candidate will collaborate with various Market Access functional leaders, Brand Sales Training & Development Leads, and external vendor Subject Matter Expert's in the implementation of learning solutions. This individual will report directly to the Director of Market Access Marketing and Training & Development.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement the overarching Market Access training strategy and curriculum.
  • Design, implement, and facilitate Account Reimbursement Manager/Oncology Business Manager, Payer Field Team and Channel Account Manager new-hire Onboarding and Advanced Knowledge/Skills training.
  • Educate, develop, and execute training strategy for Field Sales teams on market access situation, reimbursement process, and key messaging to influence brand perception of access.
  • Partner with Brand Sales Training Leads to embed market access training into new hire curriculum (NAMSs, SSCs, and OAMs)
  • Maintain superior knowledge of key managed markets customers, including payers, PBM's, specialty pharmacies, Systems of Care, Medicaid, and Medicare and regularly conducts training sessions for internal Training & Development team members.
  • Contribute to successful product launches by designing and developing customized managed care training workshops along with any required testing and/or certification.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and through the medical/legal/regulatory review process (e.g., legal/compliance, regulatory, sales, marketing) in the development of training materials that reflect the needs of the evolving business.
  • Ensure cross-functional input is integrated and aligned in the strategy, tactics, and investments of the plan.
  • Ensure curriculum is designed to accommodate progressive learning from developing to advanced level competency demonstration.
  • Determines the most effective approaches to meet the product learning needs of the business including on-going business needs, reinforcement, and sustainability training. Applies advanced instructional design principles and the adult learning model to enhance content delivery.
  • Leverages and shares best practices from the past and new principles and concepts across all brands/products.
  • Conduct on-going needs analysis (customer feedback, field interactions, SMEs, etc.) and leverage results to inform/adjust training strategy and curriculum as needed.
  • In collaboration with the Training & Development team's Instructional Designer, designs and implements metrics to measure clinical training impact, effectiveness, appropriateness, and utility. Proven ability to flex training initiatives based on metrics.
  • Maintain expertise and attend subject matter training meetings to keep abreast of new developments in Market Access and Training.
  • Partner with Learning & Development and Brand Training & Development to offer training experiences for non-field Market Access teams when appropriate.
  • Model compliance through all activities and interactions
  • Able to effectively leverage resources and budgets to achieve agreed-upon objectives.
  • Ability to travel, up to 40%, is expected for field activity, POA meetings, and conferences, training classes and meetings at Jazz Pharmaceuticals US offices (Carlsbad, Palo Alto, & Philadelphia) to facilitate training classes & attend department meetings.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 8+ years' industry experience with a portion of that experience in the specialty pharmaceutical/biotech space, successful sales performance, or market access experience
  • 2 or more years of relevant sales training, market access training, and/or reimbursement training experience with a successful record of delivering quality and innovative training solutions in an adult learning environment utilizing adult learning principles, distance learning and learning management systems.
  • Relevant managed markets and reimbursement experience
  • Must have ability to work in a matrix and highly regulated environment.
  • Understands field based and internal employee job responsibilities.
  • Experience writing and developing training programs and materials.
  • Vendor and contract negotiation skill

Required/Preferred Education and Licenses

  • BA/BS degree with a concentration in Science, Education, Business, or Marketing
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Jazz Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices and we strive to provide employees with total compensation packages that are market competitive. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $148,000-$194,250. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.

At Jazz, your base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate may also be eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus or incentive compensation (depending on the role), in accordance with the terms of the Company's Global Cash Bonus Plan or Incentive Compensation Plan, as well as discretionary equity grants in accordance with Jazz's Long Term Equity Incentive Plan.
