We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional as Repair Technician 3- Systems to join our Kontron Family! Under limited supervision, performs diagnostics in order to repair, rework, replace or upgrade returned products in accordance with Kontron customer service policies and procedures. these products include PCs, rackmount servers, and other industrial computer products & accessories.

Performs customer support activities for computer chassis, peripherals and commodities with respect to cabling, wiring, and electro-mechanical assemblies.

  • Strives to meet standard warranty repair turn time of 10 business days.
  • Ensure all departmental and company wide processes and procedures are followed in accordance with ISO documentation.
  • Completes repair activity in a timely and accurate manner, follow guidelines to repair & ship products
  • Understand and utilize the ERP system for order maintenance, problem solving and information extraction.
  • Maintains current PWI (Product Work Instructions) and performs repair / upgrade functions at a system level.
  • Maintains current PWI (Product Work Instructions) and schematics to perform repair and upgrade functions.
  • Follows and executes Special Repair Instructions as documented in the ERP system (Flash Messages).
  • Maintain accurate data in ERP system for customer, quality, and inventory management purposes.
  • Interacts with Technical Support / Engineering to solve complex customer issues, or during development of new product.
  • Creates ECRs & CARs on behalf of Technical Services. Develops and implements repair procedures as necessary.
  • Creates repair estimates for out of warranty systems, and interacts with customer service to obtain purchase order
  • Acts as a resource for other repair techs; provides guidance with respect to policy, products, and advanced troubleshooting methods.
  • Interacts directly with the customer to verify the reported problems.
  • Creates failure analysis report as required.


Requirements

  • AS degree in Electronics or Computer Science or military/professional equivalent experience.
  • 4 + years related system level repair experience.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to build, test, and repair Computer Rack Mount Servers, Industrial PC's and peripherals.
  • Minimum 5 years direct experience with Computer/Servers and/or Industrial PC's.
  • Understanding of remote management / out of band server maintenance.
  • Strong familiarity with OS - Windows Server, Windows OS, Linux distributions.
  • Experience with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook.
  • Excellent oral, written and communication skills.
  • Effectively interact with all levels of internal and external contacts.
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to Multi-task.
  • Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Participation in our Drug & Alcohol Abate program is required (unless specified by management)
  • Occasional travel

Salary Description
$55,000 - $65,000
