About the Role:
The Associate Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacology is a hands-on role to execute in vivo experiments in genetic, behavioral, and pharmacological rodent models to evaluate novel treatments for disorders in the neurology, neuroendocrinology, neuroinflammation and neuropsychiatric spaces. Within a dynamic and engaging environment, you will interact with scientific investigators to plan and execute preclinical rodent studies. Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication ability are required.The primary tasks for this position will include assisting in study preparation and organization, compound formulation and dosing, pharmacodynamic and/or behavioral assessments, tissue collection, organizing and analyzing data.

Your Contribution (include, but are not limited to):Follow study protocol, IACUC protocols, SOPs and animal welfare policy in animal studies.
Perform rodent in vivo experiments: animal handling, test article dosing via various administration routes (PO, IP, SC, IV), behavioral monitoring, pharmacodynamic assays, data collection, as well as data interpretation/analysis
Perform perfusion, necropsy, dissections and tissue/ blood, plasma, serum collection when necessary
Help maintain laboratory and supply inventories
Assist with behavioral assay/model development
Summarize and assist with data analysis and presentation at internal group/team meetings
Efficiently manage scheduling of studies, and manage own time to complete assigned work by due dates
Maintain accurate databases and experimental notebooks of results
Assist in other related procedures as assigned by the supervisor
Work both independently and collaboratively
Proactively organize and identify needs for executing studies smoothly
Perform all duties in keeping with the Company's core values, policies and all applicable regulations
BS/BA degree in biological sciences preferably related to behavioral neuroscience, pharmacology or biopsychology and some experience with handling and dosing animals in a laboratory setting OR
MS/MA degree in biological sciences preferably related to behavioral neuroscience, pharmacology or biopsychology and some experience with handling and dosing animals in a laboratory setting
Previous experience with stereotaxic surgery, AAV administration
Experience handling mice and rats and general familiarity with behavioral assays, including automated techniques, locomotor activity, elevated plus maze etc.
Experience with in vivo pharmacology and efficacy studies including multiple dosing routes of administration (IV, SC, PO, IP etc.) and necropsy procedures
Can independently manage and troubleshoot rodent studies for in vivo endpoints
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as some basic graphical and/or statistical software (e.g., Prism). Experience with Python or Matlab is an attractive plus
Experience with small animal survival surgery, stereotaxic brain injections, AAV administration, and in vivo models of disorders in the neurology, neuroendocrinology, neuroimmunology or neuropsychiatric fields
Superior attention to detail, punctual, flexible, and an outstanding team-player who is comfortable working on and prioritizing multiple projects
Able to execute experiments efficiently and suggest small process improvements
Able to recognize patterns or inconsistencies in data results
Able to deduce meaningful results while conducting routine analyses or troubleshoot minor issues. Good knowledge of one's scientific discipline
Developing knowledge of scientific principles, methods and techniques
Good knowledge and some experience working with discipline specific laboratory equipment/tools
Good computer skills
Developing communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking, planning and organization skills
Understands importance of meeting deadlines
High level of organization and attention to detail
Willingness and ability to work both independently and as part of a team

The hourly rate we reasonably expect to pay is $33.98-$48.01. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 15% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
