Job Summary

This key role provides leadership and strategies for managing a 24/7 manufacturing facility to meet daily overall New Product Introduction (NPI) customer sample deliverables, Engineering Test Requests (ETR) and low volume production output requirements. Manage NPI Execution and production operations by planning, organizing, directing, controlling & evaluating manufacturing operations activities to meet the overall NPI/ETR requirements and production needs of the company including, but not limited to: quality, on time delivery, cycle time & cost. Drive overall operational excellence initiatives in all manufacturing processes and all related support functions for continuous improvements, inclusive but not limited to; leadership (mentoring & coaching), lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, change management, benchmarking for Good Manufacturing Practices, OPEX related training, etc. Manage a team of production support personnel and clean room operators.

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Coordinate the activities to support overall NPI and the processing of overall Engineering Test Requests (ETR); RMA, Test Development, MER, etc.
  • Oversee wafer probe, DPS, and final test Manufacturing Operations for a family of RF semiconductors in wafer form, KGD and packaged form products.
  • Set goals and monitor/adjust to meet Overall NPI/ETR and low volume production requirements.
  • Own and drive overall Manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement for the clean room floor and related processes and systems such as manufacturing execution system (MES).
  • Own and drive Operational Excellence initiatives through continuous improvements in manufacturing metrics including but not limited to; safety, quality, yield, cycle time, productivity and cost.
  • Provide input on equipment and resources needed to meet forecast demands, based on thorough capacity analysis.
  • Coordinate and ensure effective communication between supervisors and shift personnel, and among different departments, e.g. NPI Planning, Product and Test Engineering, Production Planning, Quality, Process Engineering, Sustaining Test Engineering, R&D, Foundries and OSATs to support overall company's manufacturing requirements.
  • Establish and maintain budgets for manufacturing operations locally and overseas.
  • Work with supervisors to implement the company's policies and goals on the clean room floor and establish training strategies and ensure certifications are up to date for all supervisors and operators.
  • Build strong teamwork culture through engagement and fostering a safe work environment.
  • Provide leadership, feedback and motivation to production teams to meet all manufacturing goals and objectives.
  • Ensure all corporate quality certifications are followed and maintained (IS0, TS16949, etc.).
  • Manage the adherence to procedures to ensure first time right on all applicable topics and quality meets or exceeds planned goals.
  • Track competencies of subordinates and provide leadership and development as required to achieve company objectives.
  • Set the manufacturing excellence example for OSAT and overseas manufacturing and test locations.
  • Serves as the technical expert on the use and training of Lean Six Sigma. Supports and/or delivers the initial Op Ex training to the Op Ex Leaders throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in on-site management of multidisciplinary manufacturing facilities.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing and managing OSATs.
  • Highly proficient with manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Excellent knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), 5S, JIT, TOC, etc.
  • Good knowledge of Failure Mode effects Analysis (FMEA) & process control plans (PCP).
  • Experience leading complex operational and transactional process improvement projects and demonstrate successful application of Lean Six Sigma tools e.g. VSM, TPM, DFM, and Change Management.
  • Strong analytic skills and are an advanced user of statistics.
  • Strong Finance acumen in relation to Manufacturing Operations, inclusive of overall Inventory management
  • Ability to build teams and lead and mentor staff to achieve significant results.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and gain commitment at all organizational levels.
  • Possess high professional ethics, good judgment, and ability to take decisive action.
  • Experience developing safety and health programs compliant with OSHA requirements.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of your time (national and international).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience managing semiconductor manufacturing at Tier 1 or 2 APAC OSATs.
  • Lean Manufacturing & Green Belt Six Sigma Certified.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in EE, Industrial Engineering or related Field.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
