The Engagement Optimization Group (A3I) is a complementary team of mathematicians, engineers, and software developers working together to enhance defense architectures. We provide assessments for fielding decisions of groundbreaking missile defense capabilities to defeat evolving ballistic and hypersonic missile threats.

 

We are seeking a talented systems engineer to assess satisfaction of requirements at both the element level and system level. As a Missile Defense Systems Engineer ...

  • Your primary responsibility will be to develop missile defense system (MDS) element requirements and evaluate system performance requirements are achieved using all available data sources for evidence including ground test and flight test events.
  • You will work closely with government, contractors, and FFRDC/UARC teams to develop requirements and assessments for future increments of the MDS to counter evolving threats.
  • You will develop briefing material and brief sponsors regarding future system requirements and the assessment of programmed system elements' ability to meet these requirements.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a BS in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or an equivalent field.
  • Have 5+ years of experience working in missile defense.
  • Are skilled in Systems Engineering and able to evaluate analysis products to validate that system requirements are met.
  • Are willing and able to travel to meetings in and around the National Capital Region as well as 15% travel to other MDA sites.
  • Hold an active Secret. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have previous experience working with the Aegis Weapon System or other elements of the Missile Defense System.
  • Have an active TS/SCI security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
