Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates the performance of all financial aid personnel
  • Reviews, maintains, and evaluates the budget for the financial aid office
  • Completes FISAP report to request yearly federal campus-based funds
  • Coordinates with Institutional Effectiveness to complete Gainful Employment disclosures and IPEDS reporting
  • Coordinates financial aid efforts with appropriate college departments to ensure all programs are updated on the USDOE Participation Agreement
  • Oversees updates to the LDCC Financial Aid Policy Manual
  • Monitors LDCC’s loan default rate and maintains LDCC’s financial literacy program
  • Research problems and/or questions in relation to students with unique of unusually complex finance aid matters requiring interpretation of regulations
  • Maintains published Consumer Information
  • Counsel students and contributors on the financial aid processes and procedures
  • Works with Executive Director of Student Financial Services to ensure accurate and timely disbursement, report and availability of federal funds
  • Works closely with the Accounting Department to provide complete and accurate financial aid data and reconciliation of federal and state funds
  • Develops program outcomes for the financial aid functional area, monitors assessment of outcomes and develops plans of action for improvement
  • Monitors satisfactory academic progress of students
  • Oversees the maintenance of Financial Aid webpage
  • Prepares and discusses employee reviews and planning.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree; Masters preferred. Five to ten years of experience in federal financial aid required, and work experience with an institution of higher learning preferred. Individual must demonstrate ability to supervise, monitor, and evaluate LDCC’s Office of Financial Aid, as well as to provide leadership. Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to students in a multicultural environment as required.

Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.
