Job Summary:
Columbia College’s Robert W. Plaster School of Business invites applications for a full-time Tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Marketing with start date of Fall 2023 (start date negotiable). Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The School is seeking ACBSP accreditation within the next few years.
 
This is a full-time position in the undergraduate day program on the campus in Columbia, MO with a twelve/twelve credit hour load during a nine-month academic year. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate (and graduate courses depending on qualifications) in Marketing or other business courses as assigned in the day campus but also as assigned in the evening campus and/or online/virtual. Teaching, professional development and service are all required aspects of the position. Departmental service responsibilities include but are not limited to curriculum development and oversight of relevant course offerings (including for all venues). Participation in department meetings, faculty association, committees, or other service activities such as academic assessment and curriculum development (as assigned), co-curricular activities and College events (may require occasional afternoon, evening, and/or weekend commitments). Compliance with College policies and directions including but not limited to keeping records, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours, and evaluating student performance, etc. is required. Strong interpersonal skills, cross-cultural sensitivity, and demonstrated potential to contribute positively to a College community are expected.

Originally founded as Christian Female College, the college changed its name to Columbia College in 1970. That year, it transitioned from a two-year women's college to a four-year coeducational college. CC has a traditional campus, more than 30 venues nationwide, an evening program in Columbia, Mo., and an online program. The college serves approximately 18,000 students annually.
 
Qualifications:
Include a strong commitment to teaching, a doctorate (PhD or DBA) in Marketing (an MBA in Marketing may be considered depending on experience and qualifications). Preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated successful teaching experience and/or real world experience in the field. This position is expected to cover Marketing (and possibly other business areas) per the needs of the department, and the balance between these areas will be based on need.
