Mentor: Dr. Jamil Saad, Department of Microbiology
A postdoc position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Jamil Saad at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
The Saad lab is interested in understanding the underlying structural basis by which retroviral Gag proteins interact with membranes and cellular proteins during virus assembly, and how the Gag protein mediates the incorporation of the envelope protein. Our work is accomplished using a broad range of tools, including biochemistry, molecular biology, protein chemistry, structural biology, biophysics, and virology.

Qualifications
