Overview:

Under general direction, conducts extensive, clinically valid Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) assessments using applicable tools to produce precise, succinct, and high-quality reports. Reviews assessment reports to ensure quality, effectiveness of ABA assessment methodologies, and efficiency of assessing and reporting standards. Provides feedback, instruction, and direction for assessors as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes evidence-based ABA assessment techniques; evaluates participants for ABA services along the parameters of an ASD diagnosis based on direct data or written reports. Schedules and conducts multiple appointments with families both in home and in the community when applicable. Communicates with families regarding expectations, assessment processes, and treatment overview. Communicates with Assessment team regarding delays and scheduling issues. Prepares and submits final ABA assessment report.
  • Conducts clinical review of assessment reports to ensure presented information and clinical recommendations align appropriately. Provides feedback, instruction, and direction to assessors regarding performance to increase quality of reports and procedures. Collects data on assessors’ performance.
  • Ensures reports are submitted on time each month. Tracks and submits mileage weekly. Documents appointments and administrative time.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in psychology/early childhood education/related field or equivalent combination of training, education and experience to perform the job successfully.
  • Typically requires 3-5 years’ experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in a multi-disciplinary team setting.
  • Expertise in approaches to intervention and assessment based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis. Competent in employing and directing behavior analytic methodologies.
  • Must maintain a Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification or be an eligible Autism Services Professional.
  • Must possess and maintain a current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, Skype).
  • Excellent clinical, administrative, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and to work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups.
  • Ability to exercise a high level of discretion in handling sensitive situations and to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB test.
  • Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity. A signed declination may be acceptable for certain vaccinations.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation per Easterseals Southern California and/or program requirements.
  • Ability to travel locally throughout Southern California; maintain driving record in compliance with Transportation Safety Standards; maintain auto insurance and vehicle registration.
