Sauk Valley Community College, a comprehensive community college located in a picturesque rural setting invites applications from innovative individuals for adjunct faculty. There are many opportunities for instructors in different disciplines.

Located in rural northwestern Illinois, along the scenic Rock River, between the cities of Dixon and Sterling; the College is one hour from Rockford and the Quad Cities and two hours west of Chicago.

Responsibilities:

Teach Art 119; Art Appreciation, Spring 2024. A survey of the visual arts (painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and architecture). Examines historical, social and technological factors that contribute to understanding the function and meaning of works of art.

To be cognizant of the philosophy and objectives of the College and use them as guidelines in planning, structuring, and teaching courses.

Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Art or relevant subject and 18 credit hours in discipline is required. Experience teaching in a community college environment preferred.
