Scope of Work: The Associate Director of Clinical Services teams with the Director of Clinical and Prevention Services to support and lead a variety of clinical programs including

the Associate Director of Clinical Services will work closely with the Associate Director of Testing and Prevention services to ensure that SAAF Health patients have barrier-free access to HIV/HCV Testing, PrEP Navigation, Syringe Access, etc. The Associate Director of Clinical Services has direct supervision responsibility for various clinical programs, as well as administrative oversight for all clinical programs in the absence of the Director. This is a full-time exempt position.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • · Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising clinical staff including Front Desk/Medical Assistant(s), but excluding Nurse Practitioners.
  • · Responsible for auditing an accurate inventory of clinic supplies, creating systems to track expiration dates, and ensuring that clinical staff keep all clinic supplies up to date and in stock.
  • · Responsible for auditing equipment logs of point of care testing machines and maintaining yearly tagging of equipment.
  • · Responsible for managing supply budgets, and ordering equipment as needed.
  • · Day-to-day oversight of program development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of various clinical programs.
  • · Assists in the research, initiation, writing and execution of funding proposals for clinical programs in cooperation with the Director of Clinical & Prevention Services, Director of Development, Development and Grants Coordinator, and other relevant staff.
  • · Maintains and ensures efficient staff and program monitoring systems within SAAF Health.
  • · Provides grant administration support to the Director of Clinical & Prevention Services.
  • · Ensures contract compliance and coordinates and prepares contract reports for public and private grant sources, including coordination with program, finance, development, and information systems staff in obtaining program information and data. Includes preparation of reports to the Board of Directors and annual contract reviews.
  • · Develops and coordinates subcontracts, MOU’s, MOA’s, and vendor agreements with community partners, collaborators and vendors. .
  • · Initiates the development and monitoring of department and program budgets in coordination with the Director.
  • · Designs and implements skill enhancing programs and trainings for clinical staff, volunteers, and interns.
  • · Travel for grant-related meetings and conferences both in state and out of state.
  • · Serve as an advocate in public and private arenas for SAAF Health and priority populations. This includes tabling at public events to promote SAAF Health.
  • · Serves as a member of Associate Leadership Team to provide direction for departmental and agency services.
  • · Keeps current on Fast Track Initiatives; innovates processes to help those in the community affected by healthcare disparities. and other health related issues. Serves as a resource to other agency and program staff on these topics.
  • · Provides support and oversight for the clinical Department in the absence of the Director of Clinical & Prevention Services.
  • · This position will include assisting the Director of Clinical and Prevention Services with the management of the 340B program, including weekly and monthly auditing of pharmaceutical records, report building and presence during HRSA audits.
  • · Assist with clinical overflow: answering incoming calls, appointment scheduling, data entry, document scanning, tracking,
  • · Development of health initiatives and processes, and the auditing of charts compliance for population management will be a responsibility of the position.
  • · Performs other duties as assigned.
  • · Reports to the Director of Clinical & Prevention Services.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • · Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration and 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting OR 6 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • · Active certification as a Registered/Certified Medical Assistant
  • · BLS certification
  • · Experience in the maintenance of Medical Records.
  • · Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • · Appropriate fingerprint clearance through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (paid for by SAAF if not current).
  • · Access to a reliable vehicle, a valid AZ Driver’s License and a driving record that will be supported by our liability insurance provide.
  • · Knowledge in clinic flow and be able to cover Medical Assistant duties as needed by patient load or staff absence.
  • · Knowledge of front-desk operations: patient checking in and out, rooming patients, Initiating prior authorizations, coordinating incoming and outgoing paperwork and authorizations, and obtaining patient history,
  • · Knowledgeable of State Licensure and Regulations, able to maintain needed records for yearly State inspections.
  • · Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals, including Providers, Medical Assistance, volunteers, staff, patience, and public.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • · Three years’ experience in supervisory and management role within a health care system.
  • · Ability to provide direction and leadership for health promotion/prevention programming.
  • · Bilingual/bicultural (English/Spanish).
  • · Knowledge of and comfort with populations affected by HIV/AIDS.
  • · Knowledge and valuing of various cultures in the Southwest US.
  • · Previous experience with conference presentation development and
  • · Knowledge of 340B Pharmaceutical Rebate program and auditing process.

Compensation:

Rate of Pay: Salary range $62,558-$78,198

Benefits: Eleven (11) paid holidays, two (2) half day paid holidays, one (1) paid floating holiday, twenty

(20) days of paid vacation per year to start, in addition to 40 hours of sick leave. Health, dental, vision, and life insurance; 401(k) with matching, long-term and short-term disability insurance.
