Unit Director

The Unit Director is accountable for directing/managing the overall daily operations of the designated Unit with the primary concern for programs and service delivery, leading and training staff, facilities management, community relations and membership administration.

Required Knowledge, Skill, and Ability

Leadership

  • Serve as a mission-led and outcome-driven “culture builder” to ensure that the values and core beliefs of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sheboygan County are maintained
  • Command of youth development trends, regularly bench-marking to ensure that all programs, training, and initiatives are meeting the needs and interests of members
  • Drive content strategy and the organizational mission, serving as a brand ambassador to internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to present to a range of audiences with outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate values of integrity, excellence, and inclusion, and integrate them into the work environment

Team Development

  • Provide leadership and supervision to staff while advancing organizational impact, maximizing human capital and resources, and ensuring impact for youth
  • Provide innovative leadership in executing all programmatic and training/learning expenditures within budget
  • Provide leadership for the development of learning experiences for Boys & Girls Club professionals to support organizational goals and objectives
  • Develop organizational talent by providing coaching, feedback, staff development plans, and performance management to designated staff

Budget and Resource Management

  • Manage Unit financial resources strategically, controlling expenditures against budget
  • Assist in the development of annual Unit budgets

Strategy and Program Execution

  • Create and communicate strategies, tactical objectives, and action plans
  • Apply logic and reasoning to identify new solutions or approaches to problems
  • Drive projects to completion and high-level execution
  • Identifies opportunities and takes action to build strategic relationships between one’s area and other areas, teams, departments, units, organization, and community to help achieve business goals
  • Ensure a healthy, safe, and positive environment in program areas
  • Develop, plan, and monitor programs to ensure completion of goals and grant requirements
  • Oversee membership management systems, to ensure proper membership documentation and retention of registered members
  • Champion the Club's approach to youth behavioral management

Outreach, Commitment, and Knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs

  • Give compelling testimony to the value of the organization and the work, raising awareness and building mutually beneficial relationships in the community
  • Show care and concern for youth
  • Understand the Club Experience and outcome measurement
  • Understand or quickly learn Club culture, resources, and budgeting/financial processes

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience with Boys & Girls Clubs or similar organization, planning and supervising youth programs based on the developmental needs of young people, or equivalent experience (Preferred)
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in Youth Development (Required)
  • Bachelor's degree in related field (Preferred)
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license • Computer and software literacy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
