Job Description

 

The Human Resources Assistant will join a team of HR professionals responsible for oversight of recruitment, hiring, payroll, and benefits & leave administration for employees hired on with the Research Foundation for SUNY at the University at Albany. As a member of the Research Foundation Human Resources Team, the HR Assistant will assist with the following:

  • Review of employment paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with Research Foundation hiring policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the Faculty and Department Administrators' point of contact for Recruitment and Onboarding.
  • Administration of the recruitment process and applicant tracking system. Act as a liaison with advertising resources.
  • Facilitation of employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and faculty.
  • Research and analyze HR data and prepare reports as requested by HR leadership and management.
  • Facilitation of training and development programs.
  • Time & Attendance monitoring.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization and at least one year of experience in Human Resources OR an Associate's Degree and at least three years of experience in Human Resources OR at least an equivalent of four years of experience in Human Resources OR a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate complex regulations.
  • Experience navigating Excel and other MS Office program.
  • Knowledge of Employment laws and regulations. Department of Labor, EEOC, FLSA, ADA etc.
  • Proactively manage multiple tasks and has a strong attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced changing work environment.
  • A commitment to confidentiality, honesty and integrity is required in this role.
  • Candidates must address in their applications their ability to work with culturally diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a university, non-profit organization, or research environment.
  • Experience working with an HRIS or HRMS.
  • PHR Certification

Additional Information:


Salary Range
: $50,000 - $58,000

Subject to change, this position may be eligible for up to 60% alternative workplace arrangement after a six-month probationary period.
