Manager of Curriculum Development

 

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Status: Staff - Non-Classified

Reports to: Director of Skilled Trades and Industrial Technologies

Salary: $50,000-$55,000/year

Grant-funded, at will staff position. The position is expected to last for the duration of the grant, which is estimated to be 3 years.

 

Summary: The Manager of Curriculum Development will create and build online, hybrid, traditional-classroom based credit and non-credit curriculum and courses. This position collaborates with industry leaders, community members, and internal stakeholders to construct courses and programs.

 

General Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recommend, develop, and implement strategies for online and hybrid course design; provide guidance on the effective use of technology.
  • Work with industry partners and internal stakeholders to create program and course curriculum, syllabi and assessment methods for credit and non-credit offerings.
  • Build course content into online learning platform (Blackboard), including the manufacturing of additional tools and technology.
  • Keep current with research pertaining to higher education, pedagogy, andragogy, and pertinent learning theories related to instructional and learning design.
  • Produce innovative and creative work reflecting current trends, research, and emerging technologies.
  • Work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Participate in subject or program leadership teams and college-wide committees.
  • Maintain reports and accurate records related to courses and curriculum; including the production of ad hoc reports.
  • Assist instructors with course and program assessment reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited higher education institution is required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to both manage and lead small or large projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate industry training needs into course content.

 

Physical/Work Demands:

  • Work in a standard office environment and uses office equipment. Some travel will be required.
