Job Description

The College of Business at the University of New England invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track, open rank faculty position in accounting with a specialization in tax and/or data analytics to begin in August 2024. Newly established in 2023, the ACBSP-accredited College of Business is diverse and growing with over 200 undergraduate students majoring in Business Administration (with six specialized concentrations and four minors), Sport and Recreation Management, Marine Entrepreneurship, Sustainability & Business, and Outdoor Business & Innovation). The candidate will directly support the new Accounting major, scheduled to launch in fall 2024, as well as, the associated majors in Business Administration, and Finance.

Responsibilities
The College seeks candidates who can teach courses in accounting such as: Intermediate Accounting, Tax for Individuals and Entities, Data Analytics, Excel Expert Certification. Preference will be given to candidates with tax, excel and data analytics expertise, as well as those who have research and teaching interests that align with the university’s strengths in sustainability, the environment, and healthcare. The successful candidate will actively engage in scholarship that meets or exceeds the requirements for AACSB’s scholarly academic faculty qualification status. The candidate will also participate in curricular assessment at all levels; academic advising; recruiting; and service to the college, university and professional community. The typical teaching load for this position is 3-3.

 

Qualifications
A Doctorate in Accounting or related field is preferred. Applicants with a Master of Taxation, Accountancy, Business or Law will be considered if they also offer strong evidence of an active research program. Applied industry experience and accounting certifications (CPA, CMA, CIA, CISA) are also preferred. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and preference will be given to candidates with 3 or more years of undergraduate teaching experience.
