JOB DESCRIPTION
 
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

The work involves directing a collaborative implementation of CUNY’s ACE (Accelerate, Complete and Engage) program. The incumbent, under the direction of Senior Executive Staff will provide successful delivery of a comprehensive program which will provide academic, comprehensive advisement, career and financial supports for students.
 
 

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
 
  • Serves as liaison between the College and other public and private agencies which are involved with the grant; including, but not limited to admissions, registrar, career center, financial aid.
  • Regularly attend required meetings with CUNY Central ASAP|ACE staff.
  • Prepare reports for the University ASAP|ACE Executive Director, CUNY Office of Academic Affairs (CUNY Central), and share outcomes each semester with college leadership.
  • Implements CUNY ACE policy and processes, to meet the Program’s mission.
  • Develops the local strategy to meet program enrollment/recruitment targets each semester.
  • Direct and manage processes that will ensure successful progress toward student engagement and program academic performance benchmarks.
  • Director oversees the program budget and daily administration, including scheduling and timely delivery of services.
  • Oversees the development and timely implementation of strategies and delivery of supports to improve retention, including interventions/academic supports for probation and at-risk students.
  • Develop processes for program incentive distribution in coordination with appropriate college departments.
  • Develop strategy and mechanisms to increase FAFSA completion, reduce SAP/verification issues.
  • Create and manage program component delivery and data collection to ensure successful progress towards student engagement and program academic performance benchmark.
  • Monitor the development of a comprehensive framework to provide opportunities for ACE students to progress toward career.
  • Supervises and directs program staff.
 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Candidates must be able to demonstrate awareness and sensitivity towards promoting an inclusive and diverse learning environment. Thorough proficiency in the English language; thorough knowledge of educational administrative methods and procedures;
including development and close monitoring of project budget; ability to develop, track, and lead multiple projects; ability to train others effectively; excellent professional judgment; possess initiative and resourcefulness; dependable; possess strong organizational abilities, physically capable of performing the functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: Graduation from regionally accredited four (4) year college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline. Eight (8) years of experience in a higher education setting.
 
 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Educational Psychology, Counseling, and/or Social Work and six (6) years of experience in a higher education setting.
