Agricultural Engineering Technology Evening Adjunct Instructor
Location: Troy, MO
Job Summary: Prepares for and teaches Agricultural Engineering courses and conducts labs as assigned by the department chair of the Agricultural Engineering Technology department.
Responsibilities:
- Teaches assigned theory and lab classes. Plans daily activities for students in theory and lab. Supervises students for both theory and technical project grades.
- Instructs and evaluates students in a live work setting who are performing controlled environmental agriculture, to include instruction in shop and food safety.
- Maintains a safe worksite and enforces Ranken?s safety standards.
- Assists in the maintenance of lab and classroom equipment.
- Assists management with developing curriculum and syllabi, scheduling, budgeting, hiring, and other duties.
- Participates in college governance, committee work, student advising, etc.
- Participates in available training to keep current in Agricultural Technology.
- Assists in maintaining requirements of industry standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by authorized individual.
Minimum Qualifications:
Knowledge/Education/Experience
- AS or BS degree in Agricultural or Maintenance Technology related field.
- Three years or more of maintenance or agricultural experience.
- Community college or technical school teaching experience preferred.
- Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
- Experience in precision agriculture, ideally in the areas of GPS/GIS, Remote sensors, and automation.
- Ability to assemble, repair, and troubleshoot electrical circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic/pneumatic schematics and drawings.
- Mechanically inclined and experienced with mechanical repairs on industrial equipment.
- Experience with maintaining an aquaponics system, controlled environmental agriculture or automated greenhouse.
- Experience in programmable logic, including basic circuitry, troubleshooting and light programming.
