Description

 

Directs, manages, and oversees the College’s Career and College Promise (CCP) programming in partnerships with local high schools, including Cooperative and Innovative High Schools (CIHS). Coordinates these programming opportunities with other campus departments, transfer destinations, and outside agencies. Provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Dean of Enrollment Management.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives administrative direction from the Dean of Enrollment Management.
Exercises direct supervision over the CCP and CIHS Program Administrators and the Scholar Advisors.

In concert with the Dean, develops goals and objectives for the department of High School Programming that are consistent with the mission and goals of the College; using data, determines targets for applications, admissions, graduates, etc.; develops strategies to meet those targets; evaluates and refines methods when targets are not reached; and shares enrollment data with College stakeholders to assist in decision-making.

Develops and maintains relationships with the College’s external secondary partners and explores opportunities to expand current offerings; develops and maintains relationships with the College’s academic deans, associate deans, department heads, and directors to assist with CCP program maintenance and growth in traditional college transfer pathways, career and technical education (CTE) pathways, and CIHS programs.

Delivers orientation sessions to new and returning CCP students and training sessions to faculty and staff from our secondary partners and from the College.

Develops and documents procedures that will ensure all services in high school programming are provided in a timely and appropriate manner.

Conducts regular team meetings with Scholar Advisors and works with them to identify and resolve problems.

Assists with the development and administration of the High School Programming budget; forecasts funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitors and approves expenditures, ensuring effective and efficient use of resources; and recommends adjustments, as necessary.

Determines staffing needs and requirements; submits personnel requisition forms along with requests for job postings, as needed; assesses candidate qualifications; and serves on interview committees for staff hiring's in areas of responsibility.

Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates staff; provides or coordinates in-service training for staff; assists employees with corrective action plans, as necessary; and implements disciplinary and termination procedures according to due process.

Coordinates services with other campus departments, local high school partners, and outside agencies; supports the development of articulation agreements with memoranda of understanding with local high schools and public-school systems.

Represents High School Programming on various College councils and committees.

Assists with annual assessment of the department in accordance with the College’s regional accrediting body; organizes staff to develop, monitor, gather data for, and analyze appropriate performance metrics; assists with the preparation and presentation of reports and other necessary correspondence demonstrating compliance with College, System, and regional accrediting body policies and procedures, as well as any other pertinent state and federal guidelines.

Attends and participates in professional group meetings and conferences and stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of High School Programming and dual enrollment.

Provides responsible staff assistance to the Dean of Enrollment Management.

Performs other duties, as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

Education:
A baccalaureate degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university is required. A master’s degree is preferred. Degrees in education and/or leadership are preferred.
Experience:
At least two years of increasingly responsible supervisory experience is preferred. At least two years of experience with any of the student services functions mentioned in the job description is desired. Experience across multiple areas is a plus. Candidates should provide evidence of leadership abilities in planning, coordinating, and implementing a college-wide project (or its equivalent in another capacity); display effective oral and written communication skills; and demonstrate strong organizational and conflict-management skills.
Knowledge of:
  • Community college mission, policies, and procedures.
  • Community college student services including admissions, advising, and testing.
  • Curriculum program of study requirements/standards.
  • Principles and practices of budget preparation and administration.
  • Basic data analysis, statistics, and reporting skills.
  • Database fundamentals and certain computer application (spreadsheet, word processing) fundamentals.

Environmental Conditions:
Most of the work is conducted in an office environment. The position may periodically require work at irregular hours, including nights and weekends.
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer screen, and/or extensive reading.

Physical Conditions:
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
