Sea Mar Community Health Centers, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) founded in 1978, is a community-based organization committed to providing quality, comprehensive health, human, housing, educational and cultural services to diverse communities, specializing in service to Latinos in Washington State. Children's Services Director - Posting #25802

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000

POSITION SUMMARY: The Children's Services Director is responsible for the daily operations of ECEAP and the Child Development Center, a 120-bed bi-lingual pre-school program part of Sea Mar Health Centers, a non-profit health organization that services a diverse community in need.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and maintain a full integrated intergenerational program in compliance with Washington State Childcare Licensing and Regulations, including but not limited to policies and procedures, parent handbook, health and safety procedures and job descriptions.
  • Maintain program philosophy, goals, objectives and budget.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable regulations. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees addressing compliance and resolving problems.
  • Serve as a resource to site supervisor, teachers and parents.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and in-service training for staff development.
  • Meet with parents when necessary to follow through on concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge and understanding of early childhood development, general learning theories and curriculum development and the ability to apply this understanding to planning and implementing appropriate activities. The ability to instruct other adults, especially by good role modeling in interactions with children. Strong communication and writing skills.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or AA in Early Education with Bachelor's degree in education, social service or related field. Three years of supervisory experience in an early childhood setting. Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
