We are seeking dedicated, passionate and team-oriented professionals to join our Genomics Research and DevelopmentGroup in the following roles:
Research Associate II: (Full-time and contract roles). The successful candidate will participate in the development of innovative new genomics products and applications based on Fluidigm’s integrated fluidic circuits (IFCs). Execute experiments using a range of molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, and next generation DNA sequencing (NGS). Perform gene expression and NGS experiments using IFCs to develop and validate assay panels. Maintain records and laboratory environment to comply with regulatory requirements, good laboratory practices, and standard operating procedures. Requires BS in preferably related fields to Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Immunology, etc. Requires a minimum of 1-3 years of laboratory experience, preferably some time in industry or as a graduate student. Working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to pick up new technologies quickly and ultimately troubleshoot independently in fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Scientist II and Senior Scientist: (Multiple full-time and contractor roles available). Newly created positions, these roles are part of a cross-functional team tasked with developing transformative applications using our microfluidic platforms. The individuals will be responsible for executing assay development from design through analysis. Execute experiments using a range of cellular and molecular biology assays including flow cytometry, PCR/qPCR, and next generation sequencing (NGS). Responsible for data collection, analysis, interpretation and presentation for internal and external review. Interface with cross functional work teams such as Instrument Design, Reagent Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance during platform technology development. Maintain records and laboratory environment to comply with regulatory requirements, good laboratory practices, and standard operating procedures. Requires outstanding communication, analytical and organizational skills with ability to multi-task cross functionally in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Both roles require Ph.D., preferably in molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biomedical engineering or related fields. Experience in assay development for detection of pathogens is a plus. Scientist II requires 1-3 years of postdoctoral and/or biotech industry experience. Senior Scientist requires 5-8 years of postdoctoral and/or biotech industry. Expected to lead projects and interface regularly with customers.
