The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks a Post Doctoral Scholar to perform independent research in applied biochemistry and drug discoveryThe ideal candidate will have experience with biochemical assays with acetylcholinesterase and with the development of novel therapeutic solutions.  Post Doctoral Scholars are expected to lead analyses critical to the funded research program and to take initiative in contributing to the development and design of bioanalytical tools and experiments.  Duties will include taking and analyzing data, presenting results at conferences/workshops, writing manuscripts to publish results in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the funded research program, assisting with additional extramural funding proposals, mentoring students and supporting group activities through collaborative service work.  



Qualifications: 


Doctoral Degree in biochemistry with specialization in bioanalytical and biophysical methods as well as tools or related area is requiredDemonstrated experience in acetylcholinesterase research and bioanalytical tools for its study is required.  Research interest in bioanalytical spectroscopic and spectrometric analyses is desired.  Strong software skills in spectroscopic analysis is desired.

The pay range for this job profile is $48,000-$60,000. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
