The Department of Statistics and Data Science at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a one-year postdoctoral scholar position anticipated to begin immediately. The position may be renewed depending on the availability of funds.

Responsibilities: 

The selected candidate will teach three courses per academic year based on the unit’s current workload policy. The selected candidate will have demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality research in statistics, data science, or a related field. Additionally, we are especially interested in an individual who can contribute through their research, teaching and service to the excellence of our academic community and foster an environment in which faculty, staff, and students from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and personal experiences are welcomed and can thrive.

Minimum Qualifications:

A doctorate in Statistics or a closely related field from an accredited institution by time of hire is required. All but dissertation (ABD) will be considered as long as the doctorate is completed by the date of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates who have made outstanding contributions in the areas of data science, big data analytics, Bayesian inferences and computation, spatial and temporal statistical modeling, high-dimensional data analysis, machine learning, and/or deep learning and demonstrated ability to teach courses in these areas.
