GENERAL FUNCTION:
Under limited supervision, provides excellent student-centered instruction within our Information Technology department, as well as serves as a partner in helping to guide the department's future. Performs administrative, record keeping, educational, and technical work related to instructing students in a classroom and/or online setting, advising and mentoring students, and related functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Instructs in the Information Technology department incorporating a wide variety of teaching methods and modalities both seated and online which will include lecture, lab, testing, and assessments.
- Fosters a collegial relationship among colleagues and partners.
- Supports the student access, success and completion agenda.
- Maintains attendance records, syllabi, lesson plans, student learning outcomes, programs, and more as required by BCC/NCCCS/SACSCOC.
- Maintains open and professional communication with BCC (faculty, staff, supervisors, administration, etc.), students, community members, and representatives from business entities.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field from a regionally accredited university or a Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited university with 18 graduate hours in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
- Demonstrates excellent oral & written communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse faculty/student population and demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
- Experience teaching courses in information technology or Industry experience in information technology
- Willing to teach seated courses in a classroom environment located on the main BCC campus.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Current industry-recognized certifications (i.e.: Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, etc.)
- Experience in teaching information technology in any of the following formats: training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars
- Post-secondary teaching and outcome assessment experience in a related field
- Experience in delivering courses both seated and online.
