Position Highlights We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in seismology to work with a team on the NSF funded New Frontiers of Sound Science and Technology Center at the University of Arizona. The researcher will collect and analyze seismic data using new methods to determine ambient noise and other methods to map out permafrost and variations in soil properties in Alaska and other regions. We seek a collaborative and motivated individual capable of integrating results and perspectives across disciplines related to environmental applications in seismology as part of the New Frontiers of Sound Science and Technology Center. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in seismology related to ambient noise and shallow seismic imaging
  • Coordinating research with other team members
  • Mentoring students
  • Collaborative prepare and publish scientific work

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  •  Strong quantitative and computing skills
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a PhD completed in seismology or a closely related field upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with seismic ambient noise tomography and/or other shallow seismic methods.
