TITLE: 
Mathematics Faculty (Spring 2024)

 


RESPONSIBILITIES:
 The full-time faculty will teach a full range of math courses that may include Quantitative Reasoning, College Algebra, Technical Math I and II, Math for Business and Economics, Math for Educators, and Applied Statistics. Responsibilities include course delivery (15 credits per semester), student and institutional learning outcomes assessment, and curriculum development. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the faculty member will be assigned advisees and assist in retention and student success initiatives. Semester schedules may include day or evening classes. Assigned courses may be delivered as face-to-face, hybrid or online classes.

 


QUALIFICATIONS: 
A Master’s degree in Mathematics or related field is required; 3-5 years of community college teaching experience preferred; demonstrated ability to use instructional technology effectively; experience with learning outcome assessment; and familiarity with Brightspace Learning Management System and MyOpenMath is desirable.

 


SALARY: 
Salary and benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the Maine Community College System Trustees and the MEA Faculty Unit. Benefits include: Retirement choice of Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) or Teachers Insurance & Annuity Association College Retirement Equities Fund (TIAA-CREF) - in lieu of Social Security; full employee health/dental insurance and approximately 60% of cost for dependent coverage; life insurance paid by the MCCS; Personal 2 days/year; and Sick 9 days/academic year.
