Postdoctoral Fellow, CQISE

We invite applications for a postdoctoral fellow based at the Center for Quantum Information Science and Engineering (CQISE).

The ideal applicant will be able to work with faculty across the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Engineering, specifically with faculty in the departments of math, physics, chemistry, electrical and computer engineering, materials science and engineering, or computer science and engineering.  The postdoctoral fellow is expected to actively work with more than one CQISE faculty member at OSU to strengthen interdisciplinary QISE research collaborations at OSU. Consequently, the fellow will be co-advised and co-mentored by faculty across at least two disciplines.  

The Center for Quantum Information Science and Engineering (CQISE) is a University Center focused on Ohio State’s quantum research enterprise. CQISE brings together a multidisciplinary community of researchers across the university and throughout the region to advance fundamental quantum science, investigate the quantum-classical boundary, and explore applications with quantum advantage. CQISE supports program development, seed grant funding, recruiting of faculty, creation of infrastructure, partnerships with industry, training of students, and community outreach.

Required Qualification: A doctorate in a quantum related field such as math, physics, chemistry, electrical and computer engineering, materials science and engineering, or computer science and engineering. 

Desired Qualifications: Interdisciplinary research, including completed self-directed projects across two or more disciplines. Highly competitive candidates would have significant experience in project management, time management, personal management, and organization skills.

Targeted Salary: $65,000.00/year.

Job Responsibilities: 

Conduct original self-directed research in QISE

Work on joint research projects in QISE with faculty mentors

Publication of research results

Mentor other researchers (undergraduate, graduate, and some postdoctoral) and perform outreach in QISE

Dissemination of research by presentation of results at national/international conferences and seminars
