Position Highlights

We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in seismology to work with the Seismology team at the University of Arizona. The researcher will use seismic data collected in the forearc of Ecuador above the subduction zone to improve our understanding of subduction. The focus of the work includes imaging the subduction zone system using data from 60+ BB seismic stations and 800 nodes using tomography and other imaging techniques. We seek a collaborative and motivated individual capable of integrating results and perspectives across disciplines related to subduction zone science. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conducting independent and collaborative research in seismology
  • Coordinating research with other team members
  • Mentoring students
  • Collaborative preparation and publication of scientific work
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a doctorate degree completed in seismology or a related field upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with seismic imaging methods including ambient noise tomography.
