Job Description

 

Associate Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: The Associate Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) will report to the Deputy Executive Director / Chief Diversity Officer. This position will serve as the liaison between the Illinois Community College Board, agency staff, as well as external entities that promote DEI. The position carries the following responsibilities:

1. Performance - Regular Assignments:

a. Manage reporting requirements and grant agreements for the Workforce Equity Initiative (WEI) colleges and Lead WEI College.

b. Provide help with all other DEI related grants and programs.

c. Prepare reports for the Governor’s Office on Equity.

d. Attend all meetings related to DEI from the Governor’s Office.

e. Prepare and process all WEI Intergovernmental Agreements.

f. Manage budget amendment requests in consultation with ICCB fiscal staff.

g. Liaison with the Lead WEI College to ensure effective implementation of the WEI program.

h. Work with WEI colleges to provide technical assistance and answer questions as appropriate.

i. Present on related DEI and WEI related initiatives and conferences.

j. Work with ICCB DEI Committee to plan professional development for the agency.

k. Help in the development of proposals relative to any DEI efforts internally and externally.

l. Contribute to agency policy and research efforts related to state and national trends for DEI needs, this includes possible professional development for the system.

m. Aid with college submission of equity plans. This includes analysis, feedback, presentations, and reporting.

n. Assist in the planning and implementation of the agency DEI work.

o. Provide staff support to and collaborate with the diversity, equity, and inclusion committee.

p. Regularly work within the agency to access agency DEI needs.

q. Perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy Executive Director.

d. WEI Colleges and Lead College

e. Equity Plan Points of Contact on Community College Campuses

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field

2. A total of one (1) year (12 months) in education, training and/or work experience in the area of specialization inherent to the position. (Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year of work experience.)

Additional Desirable Qualifications

1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams

2. Experience and ability to work with outside providers, vendors, or associates. This includes advising and training skills.

3. Grant Management experience

4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

5. Prior work with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

6. DEI related professional memberships and/or certifications is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
