Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Training and Consultation Specialist for the department of Psychiatry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, train professionals and the public and coordinates programming on a variety of addiction related topics, including, but not limited to opioid overdose education and naloxone administration. Distribute naloxone kits to professionals and the public to prevent opioid overdoses in New Jersey. An ideal candidate will also have a background in treating addictions and be able to provide clinical interventions for research projects within the division. Also provide support for other division projects, all of which have a focus on opioid use disorder training, research and support services.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Conduct and oversee face-to-face training, webinars and on-line training for professionals on a variety of addiction related topics, including but not limited to opioid overdose education and naloxone administration.
  • Provide clinical interventions in the context of research projects in the division.
  • Participate in training and other project evaluations.
  • Provide oversight and contribute to the development of distribution plans and distribute naloxone kits to professionals and the public.
  • Seek and respond to training and naloxone distribution opportunities and target communities. Markets programs and participates in grant writing as needed.
  • Travel to various agencies, organizations, and communities (e.g., criminal justice, drug treatment, healthcare, syringe access, community center settings) throughout NJ; most travel will be in Central and Southern New Jersey.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field plus three (3) years of related experience.
  • At least one year of experience providing training, technical assistance, and developing curricula.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical licensure, such as LPC/LCSW.
  • CHES (Certified Health Education Specialist) and familiarity with addiction treatment are desired.
