  • Develop educational tools describing relative risks of chemical exposures.
  • Contribute to public policies related to environmental and occupational chemical risks.
  • Offer training programs for environmental health professionals.

EOHSI members are active as advisors to international, national, state and local organizations on public health issues.

Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey has an opening for a Grants Contract Analyst I for the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute within the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute (EOHSI). Under direction of the Associate Program Manager and the Executive Director, the Grants and Contracts Analyst I generates competing and noncompeting renewal reports and acts as the point of contact with all the agencies SRO’s.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Assists Director and faculty with grant and contract preparation and submission, including all internal and external required documents.
  • Responsible for preparing all grant/subaward/award documents for EOHSI such as Biosketches, Other Support Forms, and any other necessary agency paperwork as needed/requested.
  • Will submit multi-PI/multi-investigator grant(s) for all agencies (NIH, EPA, NSF, various foundations, and State agencies, NJDoH and NJDEP). Plan and execute multiple concurrent submissions without missing a deadline and delivering a complete product. Prepare and handle many overlapping deadlines and generate grant and regulatory critical reports.
  • Maintenance of budgets including spending projections, grant administration and fund distribution. Create budget projections for remaining grant funds as well as ensure all budget compliance requirements of the funding agency are met.
  • Ensure a timely and complete submission using RAPPS and other grants.gov applications submission software.
  • Contract Management preparation to execute research and sponsored program agreements.
  • Must ensure compliance of all NIH requirements including IRB, IACUC, CITI, DEI, PMCID, and budget compliance regulations. Will generate all non-competing renewal reports for final approval.
  • Ensure a timely and complete submission using RAPPS and other grants.gov applications submission software.
  • Create budget projections for remaining grant funds as well as ensure all budget compliance requirements of the funding agency are met.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of progressively more responsible experience in the areas of grant accounting, budget preparation and grants administration required. 

Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with NIH Center grants preferred.
  • Proficiency in RAPPS for multiple government agency submissions preferred.
