Posting Summary
Rutgers School of Health Professions is seeking a part-time Research Assistant for the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences.  The Research Assistant will conduct Neurorehabilitation and Neurophysiology Research.
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: 
  • Works on ongoing research that uses electrophysiology and neuroimaging measures to better understand motor related impairment following neurological, neuromuscular, and musculoskeletal diseases and injuries for diverse patient populations including traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury and stroke.
  • Works on various aspects of research projects like data collection and analysis of EEG and EMG data and analysis of MRI data.
  • Prepares data reports.
  • Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant area, such as engineering, computer science, neurorehabilitation, biomedical sciences, or related field.
  • Experience in human research; and programming, Matlab, Python, or R.

 
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of statistical data analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; and organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong candidates will have prior experience in performing research studies in human subjects, as well as some history of publication and presentation of original research.
  • Background and experience in EMG and EEG data collection and data analysis; and TMS (data collection and data analysis).
  • Image-processing analysis.
