Collaborate with Associate Professor Yuan-Sen Ting on modeling the chemical evolution of the Milky Way, with a focus on data derived from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey V. A background in chemical evolution modeling and astro-statistics is highly desirable, particularly in the realm of statistical inference using large datasets. While we have a keen interest in candidates experienced in Galactic archaeology, we also welcome applicants with expertise in related fields such as stellar spectroscopy, asteroseismology, and machine learning. The department maintains a significant institutional involvement in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey V.

Qualifications: PhD in Astronomy or related area by time of hire is required.

The Department of Astronomy, within the College of Arts and Sciences, seeks several Postdoctoral Scholar  to join our team. The target hiring range is $55,000-$65,000. The actual salary will fall within this range based on internal equity, the candidate's qualifications and available funding.
