White Plains Hospital is the premier community hospital serving the residents of Westchester County, New York, and the surrounding area. This 292-bed, full-service hospital, located approximately 25 miles north of New York City, provides exceptional care every day to the communities it serves. White Plains Hospital is a proud member of the Montefiore Health System, and is the hub of their network of advanced care in the Hudson Valley.

With a sharp focus on patient experience and quality of care, White Plains Hospital has generated year-over-year growth in market share, service volume, and programs and services, while sustaining quality excellence and improving financial performance. With more than 1,100 medical staff members, 3800 employees, and annual operating revenue of more than $800 million, the Hospital saw nearly 22,000 patient discharges in 2019.

Following a major capital transformation in recent years, White Plains Hospital now boasts a spacious and modern lobby and entranceway, five new state-of-the-art operating suites, a new patient tower featuring 24 private patient rooms, and many other additions and enhancements. In 2020, the Hospital will open a new Pediatric Center, the first of its kind in New York State co-locating Emergency and Inpatient Pediatric services. In 2021, it will open a 252,000 square foot 9-story ambulatory care center – the largest building project in the Hospital’s history. The new center will house additional operating rooms, procedure rooms and be home to specialty physician practices. These improvements have been part of a multi-year master facility plan to support our continued growth. Additional investments in our campus are necessary and planned in the coming years.

White Plains Hospital has earned an outstanding reputation for quality, earning another three-year accreditation by the Joint Commission in 2019. It has also been twice designation as a Magnet® Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, ranked the No. 1 hospital in Westchester County on the U.S. News and World Report list of Best Regional Hospitals, and is recognized as a Great Place to Work.

In 2015, WPH joined Montefiore Medical Center, a premier academic medical center in the Bronx, and the University Hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The focus of the partnership has been enabling WPH to continue to expand its clinical services serving as the Tertiary Hub of the Montefiore Health System in the Hudson Valley. Montefiore brings its academic and research expertise as the university hospital for Albert Einstein College of Medicine; clinical expertise including the notable centers of excellence in cancer care, cardiovascular services, transplantation and children’s services; and decades of experience in comprehensive care management to improve health and make care more affordable. Montefiore and WPH will offer Westchester residents a well-coordinated system of care. WPH is uniquely positioned to become the regional tertiary care hub for the Montefiore health system.
