Overview
Posting Summary
The primary purpose of the Temporary Research Assistant is to work under the direction of the Principal Investigator. The Temporary Research Assistant will work on research investigating the psychosocial aspects of pediatric, adolescent, and young adult cancer survivorship. Conducts intervention (if applicable), manages data, analyzes data, and performs other research tasks under direct supervision of the Principal Investigator. Drafts written reports for inclusion in manuscripts and grant proposals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Works under direction of the Principal Investigator.
2. Conducts qualitative data analyses under supervision of the Principal Investigator.
3. Assists in recruitment, date collection, and data management.
4. Possess effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to publish scientific research papers and articles.
5. Understands and adheres to Rutgers’ compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy. Understands, demonstrates and models the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey core values.
6. Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers’s compliance standards as they appear in RBHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Interest policy.
7. Acts as a role model for corporate integrity, customer service and improved quality.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, public health, or other life/medical science related fields.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective oral and communication skills.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in psychology, public health, or other life/medical science related fields of study preferred.
  • Preferred: At least one year of experience in behavioral science research.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25 lbs.

Immunization Requirements


Under Policy 60.1.35 Immunization Policy for Rutgers Employees and Prospective Employees , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
