DUTIES:

Two Postdoctoral associate positions are immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Lianchun Wang in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology & Physiology and Byrd Alzheimer`s Research Center, University of South Florida, Tampa, FL, USA.  The Wang lab is interested in understanding the roles and the underlying mechanisms of heparan sulfate proteoglycan in elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer`s disease using human genetics data, mouse models and complementary cellular and biochemical approaches. The Wang lab also aims to target the illuminated novel mechanism for the therapeutic treatment of the disease.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education & Experience):

Minimum Qualifications:

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution and appropriate experience and training within a selected area of specialization. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Postdoctoral Fellow.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Research experience in vascular biology, neuroscience, cell biology and biochemistry.  
• Research experience in mouse models, molecular biology, next-generation sequencing data analysis, primary cell culture, and confocal imaging are a plus.
• Strong first-author publications. 

Special Skills:

• Excellent verbal/written communication skills in English. 
• Independent and self-motivated to work in a highly interactive and collaborative scientific environment.
