Position Highlights The postdoctoral research associate (PRA) will contribute to a NHLBI-funded cardiovascular disease risk refinement project. Main duties include assisting with data retrieval, secondary analysis, and manuscript authorship focused on social environments impacting health in minoritized populations. PI seeks a PRA to collaborate on ongoing projects and help with the launching a pilot study centered on social networks and heart health. Successful applicants will have demonstrated research interests in social determinants of health and relationships and health, strong experimental and statistical training, experience with large, publicly available data sets, and a record of publications. Funding for the position is available immediately.

Duties & Responsibilities

 Data Retrieval and Secondary Data Analysis: Assist the Principal Investigator (PI) in gaining access to relevant data, preparing data for analysis and conducting preliminary analyses for a NHLBI funded project on cardiovascular disease risk score refinement. 

Manuscript Development: Lead and co-author research manuscripts that explore the role of social environments influencing health outcomes in minoritized communities.

Collaborate effectively with external partners on ongoing research projects.

Play a pivotal role in setting up a pilot study focused on social networks and their impact on heart health. Assist in developing study protocols, IRB approval, and recruiting participants.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Psychology, Human Development and Family Science, or related fields. The selected candidate must have a conferred Ph.D. upon hire.

  • Spanish speakers are especially encouraged to apply.
