Boise Rescue Mission Ministries is looking for men and women who love Jesus and want to help give homeless men and women a safe and stable place to get a new start in life.

We are a Christian non-profit organization dedicated to serving the homeless population in the Boise and Nampa area, and while doing so, try to bring them closer to God.

The Veterans’ Ministry Program VMP Director must hold to the doctrine and constitution/by-laws of the Mission. This minister must be a regular attendee of a local church and be willing to sign and adhere to the Mission’s Statement of Faith.

Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Director of Operation, the position is full-time available in various shifts that will include evenings and weekends, and will work in both Nampa and Boise. This is a hands-on position working directly with our homeless veterans – sharing the love of Christ, inspiring them to overcome homelessness, connecting them to resources, and trying to establish a long-term relationship between them and the Mission, even after they have moved on from our shelters.

Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Hands-on leader, minister, and special event coordinator for Veterans
  • Coordinate with the women’s VMP case manager
  • Personally know the men and women in the program and inspire them to recover from homelessness.
  • OverseeallstaffassignedtotheVMPandassignedtoassistwithveteran’s events
  • Ensure that any veteran checking into the Mission is screened to verify service and is guided to the program best suited to meet his or her needs.
  • Coordinate with outside agencies to get the individual veteran the help they need to move into a healthy productive position in life.
  • Provide a point of contact for outside agencies and individuals who want to donate or volunteer with our veterans’ programs.
  • Represent the Mission at various events and Veterans’ coalition meetings such as the Joining Forces for Treasure Valley Veterans (JFFTVV) meetings.
  • Manage the Caldwell Night Rodeo Patriot Fund and other funds designated specifically for the Mission’s vets by tracking spending, screening requests for assistance and forwarding appropriate requests to the President / CEO for final approval, submitting the approved requests to the finance office for disbursement, and providing reports as needed to senior staff, the CNR Board and others as needed.
  • Assist the CEO with projects as required.
  • Help with other tasks and assignments as necessary.

Knowledge/Skills:

  • General computer skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and good organizational skills
  • Work independently, make informed decisions, problem solve in a fast-paced environment, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
College degree a plus
5+ years’ experience in a management position
Must be a veteran
Must be flexible and able to adjust to the unpredictable nature of the Rescue Ministry
