CAP serves people in need in Appalachia with the core values of Faith, Service, and Compassion. The ideal candidate will foster the total advancement of Christian Appalachian Project, providing comprehensive leadership in all areas of Direct Response Fundraising as well as Planned/Major Gifts. Reporting to Vice President of Philanthropy, CAP’s AVP will provide research and development of new methods and channels for Philanthropy, as well as marketing strategy to impact design, messaging, database, selection, and procurement. The Assistant Vice President of Philanthropy will provide oversight for CAP’s Planned/Major Gifts program, including Major Giving, Bequest and Planned Giving; Foundation/Grants and Church Sponsorships, and advancing the program to achieve annual performance outcomes. Stewards a small portfolio of Major Gifts donors. The AVP of Philanthropy will possess a high degree of personal integrity, confidentiality and professionalism; conduct self morally, ethically, legally and in the best interest of the organization. The AVP will exercise good stewardship in all work activities, and fully support CAP's mission and core values. Bachelor’s degree required, in Business, Communications, Marketing, Finance or similar field; Advanced degree preferred, with 10 years of proven and documented success in leading teams in Philanthropy.
