Job Description


A wet lab-based Research Fellow position is now available with Dr. Ming-Fen Ho.  This postdoctoral fellow position will lead a project on human iPSC-based disease modeling and therapeutic development for neuropsychiatric disorders such as opioid use disorder.  Dr. Ho will provide training for iPSC generation and maintenance, and lab techniques for functional genomic studies. Applying for postdoctoral fellowship and participating in grant applications are encouraged.

This Research Fellow will be responsible for:

     * Routine cell culture for iPSCs and brain organoids (i.e. these cells require renew culture media daily)

     * Using the data generated from the scRNA-seq and generating hypotheses and testing in the lab

     * Working closely with Dr. Ho for this grant to pursue the function and mechanisms of genes and pathways identified in the course of this project

     * Having their own projects and building their bibliography during their postdoctoral training

This Research Fellow position will require knowledge of laboratory-based research often obtained from a postdoctoral program.

A Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic is a temporary position intended to provide training and education in research. Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator. Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants. Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
