Job Description


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Clinical Interviewer will assist the BOLD/COE (Bronx Oncology Living Daily / Community Outreach & Engagement) Program Director and management team in recruiting, screening and interviewing English- and Spanish-speaking  community members towards engaging them in cancer screening and prevention services.  They will also conduct psychosocial needs assessment with cancer patients.  This may include obtaining informed consent, conducting in-person and telephone interviews, developing and translating educational/study materials, and collecting and entering data for community outreach and engagement efforts/ studies. Clinical Interviewer will work in collaboration with interns/volunteers, community organizations, and clinical and research staff.

The Senior Clinical Interviewer will engage and interview community members in cancer education, awareness, and screening activity through outreach in the Bronx and the surrounding community at such venues as health fairs, faith-based organizations, social service organizations, and other community partners.   They will also conduct in-reach and assessments at Montefiore affiliated clinics to engage patients in cancer-related services. 

The Senior Clinical Interviewer will serve as a “Community Health Worker” through their work in the community around assessment and navigation regarding cancer screening, prevention, and services. 

  • Conduct community outreach activities.
  • Conduct assessments/interviews, data collection and entry.
  • Develop educational materials in English and Spanish and assist with cultural tailoring and translation in other relevant languages (directly or with outside assistance).
  • Follow up with community members/patients for data collection and ensure needs are met.
  • Manage databases using Excel.
  • Report writing.
  • Follow study/program protocols and procedures.
  • Attend regular meetings with BOLD/COE team.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with community partners.
  • Attend community meetings and site visits.
  • Work collaboratively with BOLD/COE team to achieve program goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma and at least 2 years of administrative support experience is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Must be bi-lingual Spanish. 
  • Must possess knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook. May use other web based programs as assigned;
  • Must demonstrate good judgment, initiative and attention to detail;
  • Ability to check applicable policies and procedures.
